Dave Wallace's Muskoka
A Collection of 100 Cartoons by Muskoka's Own Award-Winning Cartoonist

Dave Wallace's cartoons have attracted a loyal following in Muskoka, even among the people who are the subject of his humor. Many of Dave's cartoons can be found hanging in the offices of the public people who are featured in the panel.

Dave started the editorial page cartoon in the Herald-Gazette, Bracebridge, three years ago. Since then his unique brand of humor has captivated a readership across Muskoka through the pages of the Grevenhurst News and the Herald-News, Huntsville.

Most of the cartoons are based on the front pages of these papers. Dave scans the newspapers and consults the news staff for cartoon subjects which reflect the human foibles of Muskoka residents. From black flies and caterpillars to politicians and local interest groups, no one is imune from his kindhearted humor.

His outstanding artistic ability was recognized in 1986 when won the Canadian Community Newspapers Association award for the best community cartoonist in Canada.

Many of the following 100-plus cartoons are telling commentaries on the major issues over the past three years and are based on the events which help shape the Muskoka lifestyle give it a unique identity. Where else would you find the latest in hunting attire modelled in a fashion show!

Muskoka Publications Group is sure you willenjoy Dave Wallace's cartoons as much as it has enjoyed assisting in the publication of this first collection of his work.
