Muskoka Books

Muskoka Books is all about preserving, expanding, and sharing the written heritage of Canada’s fabled lakeland district.

While a short name like “Muskoka Books” is handy, we in fact focus on our larger neighbourhood and publish and promote works connected with all of Muskoka, Georgian Bay, Parry Sound, and Algonquin Park.

By the same token, our activities themselves also reach into more realms than just those involving books, as seen from these nine dimensions of what we do:

• Publish new Muskoka, Georgian Bay, Parry Sound, and Algonquin Park books
• Publish updated editions of out-of-print books
• Offer free on-line access to the world’s most comprehensive listing of Muskoka titles (over 400 and counting) on our website’s interactive “Muskoka Bibliowiki”
• Benefit from advice and guidance of the “Muskoka Books Editorial Council”
• Provide book reviews on our website
• Link our website’s visitors to Muskoka’s libraries, retail booksellers, cultural bodies, and heritage organizations
• Offer convenient on-line purchase of Muskoka titles, to provide books not otherwise available and to assist book buyers unable to shop Muskoka’s brick-and-mortar bookstores
• Promote the district’s books through media features such as “Muskoka by the Book” by Patrick Boyer in Muskoka Magazine, and similar collaboration with other publications and broadcasters.
